Summer Detox Smoothie

Summer is a wonderful time to detox, because fresh organic fruit and vegetables are much more accessible. The warmer weather also makes it much easier to detoxify. Detoxification is a natural process in the body that removes impurities and and leaves you feeling healthy and energized. Most people report feeling much lighter and happier, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. They also report clearer skin, weight loss, less mood swings, reduced fatigue and a reduction in blood pressure. 

Here is one of my favourite summer detox smoothies, with ingredients that help to enhance your mood, detox heavy metals, boost your energy, improve skin tone and replenish crucial electrolytes.

Ingredients:
- 2 ripe organic peaches (excellent for skin tone)
- 1 cup ripe pineapple (high in bromelain which aids digestion and gets things moving!)
- 2 oranges, juiced (high in vitamin C which helps flush heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, and aluminum out of the body)
- 1/2 cup cilantro (detoxes heavy metals)
- 1/2 cup parsley (helps purify blood - chlorophyll!)
- 1 cup young thai coconut water (electrolytes)
