Hangover Remedy Green Juice

Had a little too much to drink last night? This hangover remedy green juice is just the thing you need to kick the nausea and feel 100%! Consuming alcohol literally strips your body of crucial vitamins and minerals, and unless you replenish them, you will leave your body feeling energy-less and more susceptible to colds and other illnesses.
Greens are packed with quality minerals and vitamins your body needs to replenish itself after a night of drinking. They are alkalizing, detoxifying, and ease the digestive system. Ginger reduces nausea and eases indigestion, while lemon helps soothe your stomach and powers your immunity with high concentrations of vitamin C.
Enjoy and cheers to your health!

Pomegranate Creamsicle Smoothie for Immunity & Glowing Skin!

This pomegranate creamsicle smoothie contains more antioxidants than green tea and features some of the best ingredients for immunity and glowing skin! Oh – and it also tastes like a creamsicle, but 10x better – mainly because of the pomegranate and blueberry addition, which bring it up a whole other level!

Pomegranates contain tannins, which help prevent your skin from aging (in fact, many cosmetic skin care companies utilize tannins for their anti-aging effects!). They are also great for enhancing the immune system, along with the blueberries and oranges, which are renowned for their antioxidant and immune-boosting effects.
Now that I am switching over my recipes to www.livelovefruit.com, you can find the recipe by clicking the link below! Be sure to subscribe to me there! :)

Iron-Boosting Green Smoothie For Anemia and Blood Building

Contrary to popular belief, iron is in a variety of plant foods, and any individual who properly eats a plant-based diet gets just as much iron as those who also consume animal products. Iron is a trace element required by the body for blood formation, which goes on to help activate enzymatic reactions, regulate cell growth, and act as a mediator for collagen synthesis.

The ingredients in this smoothie work together to help ensure that ingredients containing higher iron concentrations are readily absorbed by the body. Pairing high-iron foods with high-vitamin C foods ensures this process will occur.

Ingredients:
- 4 ripe kiwi fruit, peeled
- 2 cups dark leafy greens (I used green leafy lettuce, but switch it up with spinach, arugula or kale)
- 1/2 cucumber
- 2 ripe spotty bananas
- 1 cup young thai coconut water (or just regular water)
- 1/4 cup soaked goji berries (you can also add in drain water)

Blend the above ingredients in a high-speed blender, such as the Vitamix, and enjoy!

Why would you drink espresso when you can make these miracle ginger shots?! This is the only thing you really need to help kick-start your day!

Ginger is a great way to wake up and energize, and can help improve your blood circulation and rev your metabolism by up to 5%! Ginger also helps bring about the feeling of satisfaction and satiation, and is also an anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and basically anti-everything.

Ingredients:
- 2 lemons, peeled
- 1 cup ginger root

Juice the above ingredients in a juicer, such as the Omega, and enjoy in the morning after consuming 1 litre of water, or after any strenuous workout or yoga session. You can make a cup or two of this mixture, and use a shot glass to measure out proportions.

Quick and Easy Raw Porridge Recipe That'll Knock Your Socks Off!

If you are a porridge lover, or if you simply want to switch up your breakfast options, then you MUST try this recipe! I was a huge fan of typical oat porridge before I went raw, and when I discovered this amazing combination of fruit I realized that it tasted just as good, if not better, than porridge itself. In fact, even KIDS will love this recipe more than oat-based porridges (mainly because it is sweeter and contains a larger flavour dynamic).

Mulberries are one of my favourite fruits out there, aside from figs and mango. Dried mulberries taste like a combination of nuts, vanilla, marshmallow and figs. They are truly one of the most interesting and addictive dried fruits out there! They are also loaded with tonnes of iron, potassium, magnesium and B-vitamins along with plenty of antioxidants.

Suffice to say, this raw porridge recipe is incredibly simple to make, and gives you no excuse to not eat breakfast! It will super-charge your morning better than any porridge you have ever consumed, and will leave you with extended energy, devoid of any crashes later in the day. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup dried mulberries (soaked overnight - or you may use dried for a more crunchy effect)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla bean powder
- 4 medjool dates, pitted and chopped finely
- 2 apples, chopped finely (I leave the skins on, because I eat organic apples)
- Optional: 1 tbsp. coconut flakes

Instructions:
1. Drain soak water from mulberries, if you chose to soak them.
2. You may use a blender or food processor to blend, just until chunky: bananas, mulberries, cinnamon and vanilla. Put in a bowl.
3. To the banana/mulberry mixture add the finely chopped dates and apple, and coconut flakes if you chose to use them. Mix well!
4. Put into a serving bowl, and add some chopped apple on top, and a sprinkle of cinnamon if you love food presentation and get excited by what your food looks like (aka. me - haha).
5. Enjoy!

Out Of This World Kale Salad with Pine Nuts and Cranberries

When you think about kale, you either scrunch up your face and say "yuck" or you get really excited -  well, I have something to tell you! This salad will change your perceptions on kale forever! This kale salad is quite literally, "out of this world," and tastes rather incredible (if I do say so myself).

As we all know, kale is one of the most nutrient dense lettuces on the planet! It contains a hefty amount of iron, calcium, manganese, and Vitamin's A, C & K. Not to mention it is loaded with fibre, so it helps prevent constipation and pushes out toxic waste matter to allow better overall digestion (as well as improved nutrient absorption).

If you want a satisfyingly awesome meal, make this salad and pair it with my go-to zucchini pasta or zucchini lasagna! Bon appetit!

Ingredients:
- 1 large bunch of kale, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup parsley, chopped finely
- 1/4 cup dill, chopped finely
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 lemon, juiced (save juice)
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- pinch cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup raw pine nuts (found in any health-food store)
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries (unsweetened, or sweetened with fruit juice)
- 1-2 celery stalks, diced finely

Instructions:
1. Massage kale, parsley, dill, avocado, lemon, cumin & cayenne pepper for about 5-10 minutes. This method will help break down the kale and prevent it from being so tough
2. Add to this: pine nuts, cranberries & celery
3. Enjoy!

Miracle Cabbage Juice For Kidney Cleansing, Acne Clearing & Weight Loss

If you want beautiful, glowing skin, and a slim body devoid of aches and pains, then you MUST include this highly nutritious vegetable in your diet. I must admit..I have been slacking on the cabbage eating the last two years, but after reading about the incredible health benefits of this vegetable, I have now avidly included it in so many recipes.

Cabbages are an incredible healer for the digestive tract and do wonders for the kidneys. Cabbage also contains high contents of sulfur and vitamin C, which help remove toxins (uric acid and free radicals) and ease toxic load removal by the kidneys.

Cabbage is great for drying up oily, acne-prone skin, too. Internally, sulfur is essential for keratin, a protein substance necessary for healthy hair, skin and nails. It is also great as a weight loss aid by curbing cravings and satisfying those parts of your brain that scream for otherwise unhealthy foods.

Last but not least, cabbage is wonderful for reducing inflammation in the body. For centuries, cabbage has been used to treat swelling and bruising of the skin, as well as treat joint pain due to arthritis and sports injuries.

Ingredients:
- 1 large green or purple cabbage (purple = more anthocyanins (antioxidants))
- 1-2 lemons, peeled (depending on how bitter you like your juices)
- 2 apples of your choice
- 2 inches ginger root

Run the above ingredients through a juicer such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately! Likewise, you could also blend this up in a Vitamix and strain the pulp with a nut milk bag. Enjoy!

The Best Raw Chocolate Truffle Recipe That Requires Only 5 Minutes!

Are you ready for a recipe that will quite literally blow your socks off? These raw chocolate truffles are one of the tastiest (and healthiest) chocolate balls out there! They are so simple to make and require less than 5 minutes to prepare!

These chocolate truffles quite literally melt in your mouth, and will leave you feeling your ultimate best, all day long! They are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, too:

Maca root has been used in Peru traditionally as a stress-fighting adaptogen, and to increase libido, regulate hormones, increase stamina and fight fatigue!

Carob is a great substitute for cacao powder (which contains un-necessary stimulants like theobromine and caffeine) and contains over 8% protein. It is high in minerals, especially calcium, and contains vitamins A, B, B2, B3 and D! Oh, it is also incredibly sweet, due to the natural fruit sugars of the carob pods!

Spirulina is incredibly vitamin and mineral dense. It is a type of blue-green algae that is considered a complete protein because it contains a wide variety of amino acids - the building blocks of protein. It is also a great source of vitamin B12!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup pitted medjool dates
- 1 tsp. vanilla bean powder
- 1 tbsp. spirulina powder
- 1 tbsp. maca powder
- 1/4 cup hemp seeds or coconut flakes (sulphite-free please!)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melt lightly over stove until liquid)
- 1/4 cup raw carob powder

Mash everything together, or use a food processor until all ingredients are well-incorporated. Roll the mixture into truffle-sized balls and then coat with whatever you like - I used raw carob powder for some, and some coconut flakes for others! If you like, you can also vary the flavours by adding in some cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, or whatever you please!

Let these balls set in the fridge for about an hour. You can also save them for a later date by sticking them in the freezer!

The Best All-Natural Allergy Remedy Syrup You Need To Know!

This effective allergy remedy syrup is something you should ALWAYS have on hand! It helps relieve allergies (hay fever, pollen, animal dander, weed allergies, dust mites, you name it!), soothes sore throats (the common cold), and dry coughs (one of the most annoying things, especially if you are trying to sleep!).

The ingredients in this syrup are effective anti-inflammatories, which is a major process (inflammation) in the allergic response. Honey, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, and turmeric are all anti-inflammatories, anti-fungals, anti-bacterials, and pretty much anti-anything. They are natures most effective (and REAL) antibiotics!

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. grated ginger
- 1 tbsp. grated turmeric root (or 1/2 tbsp. turmeric powder - fresher is always better though)
- 2 tbsp. raw honey (best if locally sourced)
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Optional: 1 tsp. bee pollen (best if locally sourced)

Mix the above ingredients and let it sit and blend for about an hour. Consume the above mix three times a day, especially if you are feeling something coming on. Make the batch fresh, every day, and divide it equally, for 3 separate feedings throughout the day. You will be feeling amazing in no time!

Digestive Tract Healing & Inflammation Reducing Juice Recipe

Our gut is a major hub for any type of inflammation. Considering a majority of the foods people consume are inflammatory (junk foods, dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, etc.), our gut gets the brunt of it all. Inflammation in the intestinal tract can become quite painful and if chronic, can result in inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS) or other disorders of the digestive tract. Less chronic symptoms may result in bloating or gas production.

Changing our diet, or adding in better things to our diet is the main way we can help shape and improve the way our digestive tract functions. Including plenty of leafy greens, fruit and vegetables, as well as including juices (such as this recipe) will have a huge impact on your guts overall health.

Ingredients:
- 1 fennel bulb (and fennel greens)
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 lime (peel removed)
- 1 bunch mint greens
- 4 stalks celery
- 2 green apples
- 3 inches ginger root

Juice up everything in a juicer such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately! You can juice this everyday to help improve digestion and reduce inflammation!

Renew Your Circulatory System with this Blood Replenishing Beetroot Juice!

Whether you are looking to increase your iron stores, get rid of anemia, improve the look of your skin, or simply feel your optimal best, this juice is just the thing for you! Red beets are one of the best blood cleansers and blood purifiers. Because of the high iron content in beets (which is readily absorbed and assimilated by the body), they help support the health of our red blood cells. Not only are beets great for your circulatory system, they help cleanse the liver and spleen too!

Beets are also high in boron, an essential micro-mineral that most people are deficient. Boron is a catalyst that helps trigger important functions in the body like balancing the uptake of other essential minerals in the body and helping the body respond to various hormone activities. Not only that, but beets improve blood circulation, act as a mild aphrodisiac, prevent diabetes, obesity, cancer and cardiovascular disease and help improve stamina.

This simple beetroot recipe is easy to prepare, and so incredibly tasty!

Ingredients:
- 3 large beets, peeled
- 3-4 large carrots
- 4 inches ginger root
- 1 lemon
- 1 bunch dill
- 2 apples
- 1 large cucumber
- 4 stalks celery root

Run the above ingredients through a juicer, such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately! This juice can serve as a meal in itself - I particularly love waking up to one of these juices every morning.

The All-Natural Flu Shot Alternative

These all-natural flu shots are your answer to improved immunity and better health! Typical vaccines contain hazardous ingredients like aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde, antibiotics, thimerosal and egg protein (gross!).

In fact, if you just eat healthy, build up your immune system with these green shots, and wash your hands, you'll be well on your way to being flu-free! A lot of individuals who get a flu shot end up getting the flu anyway, so really, what's the point? I have never had a flu shot my entire life, and I remain strong and healthy to this day (I also exercise, drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep and ensure my diet is as raw vegan and clean as it gets! I care for my body and well-being, so I rarely get sick).

These "shots" may not be injected with a needle, but they are by far, much better than any typical needle shot out there. Give them a try! Each recipe makes MANY shots - be sure to drink them all! Switch between each recipe every day!

FLU SHOT #1:
- 4 stalks celery
- 2 lemons (peeled if not organic)
- 1 bunch leafy greens
- 4 inches ginger root
- 3 apples
- 1 large cucumber

FLU SHOT #2:
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 1 bunch dill
- 2 inches ginger root
- 2 apples
- 1 cucumber
- 1 lemon (peeled if not organic)

FLU SHOT #3:
- 3 stalks celery
- 2 lemons (peeled if not organic)
- 1 large cucumber
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper
- 4 inches ginger root
- 1 bunch dill
- 1 bunch cilantro

Juice each of the above shots in a juicer such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately!

The BEST Raw Pumpkin Pie Recipe (Better Than Cooked!!)

This pumpkin pie, is FOR SURE, the BEST pumpkin pie I have ever had the chance of experiencing. The crust is incredibly tasty, and the filling is to die for! So much better than a plain dough crust and refined-sugar infused filling (with who knows what other chemicals are hidden in there!). It is 100% raw, gluten-free, nut & seed free, low-fat and AMAZING!

Pumpkin is one of my favourite fall treats because it is loaded with so many vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients (especially when eaten raw, such as in this recipe!). Pumpkins are packed with muscle-building protein, contain lutein for eye health, help support a healthy prostate, bladder and kidneys, help lower cholesterol, rich in B-complex group of vitamins, and they contain vitamin C, E, iron, zinc, magnesium, potassium, & alpha and beta carotenoids, which help prevent cellular damage!

Ingredients:
Crust:
- 1 mature coconut
- 1-1.5 cups raisins
- pinch of cinnamon

1. Take the coconut and cut open - take out meat and shred it into flakes (I used my juicer, and just processed the coconut - the pulp that comes out resembles fresh coconut flakes!)
2. Put coconut flakes & 1 cup of raisins into food processor. Blend for awhile, until it starts to clump and turn into "dough" - you can add more raisins if you like, just make sure the mixture is not too sticky, so somewhat dry.
3. Form this into a pie dish to resemble the crust.

Filling:
- 1 sugar pumpkin
- 7-10 dates, pitted
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 inch piece fresh ginger root (or 1-2 tsp. dried ginger powder)

1. Peel sugar pumpkin, and take out seeds.
2. Cut into little pieces and put into a high-speed blender like the Vitamix.
3. Put in dates, and spices and ginger.
4. Put in a little bit of water to get the mixture started.
5. Blend until smooth (the Vitamix is a great blender for blending pumpkin!)

Put filling into pie crust, and voila! You can put it in the freezer to set it a bit if you please, but I just put mine in the fridge and kept it overnight. Enjoy! Leave a comment below and tell me how it went!

Healing Watermelon Juice For Inflammation and Kidney Stones

Watermelon is one of my favourite fruits for alkalizing the body and providing it with major overall healing benefits. It is one of the most powerful, body-healing fruits out there!

The lycopene in watermelon is particularly helpful in healing our cardiovascular system and reduces bone degradation by improving osteoclast and osteoblast activity (two major bone cells involved in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis).

Citrulline in watermelon has also been shown to help reduce the accumulation of fat in our fat cells! Most importantly, however, watermelon is a great diuretic, but at the same time does not strain the kidneys (coffee and alcohol are diuretics, but they strain the kidneys). It is rich in potassium for proper muscle and nerve function and helps improve eyesight!

The tripterpenoid cucurbitacin E is also present in watermelon, which provides anti-inflammatory support by blocking activity of cyclo-oxygenase enzymes which normally lead to increased inflammatory support.

Ingredients:
- 5 cups watermelon for juicing
- 1 cup watermelon, cubed, for addition to juice afterwards
- 1 cup young thai coconut water
- 1/2 lime, for spritzing into juice

Juice the 5 cups of watermelon, and to this, add the watermelon chunks, coconut water, and 1/2 lime juice (spritz it into the juice). Enjoy immediately!

Lemon Orange Cleansing Juice For Energy & Mood Enhancement

Citrus fruits are incredible for helping cleanse the body and get rid of mucoid plaque in the digestive tract, lungs and circulatory system. They free-up built-up chemicals and other toxins and thus allow for proper utilization of energy via better nutrient absorption in the intestine.

When we are backed up with a host of processed foods, wheat, dairy and allergens like soy, we feel tired because our body is constantly at battle with either trying to digest or fend off these foreign food invaders (foods not necessary for the human body). Thankfully, oranges and lemons help the body break through these foods, helping to expel them and reveal a host of energy you never thought possible!

This juice is simple, but so good, and so very good for you!

Ingredients:
- 5 Oranges
- 2 Lemons
- Water to dilute (if need be)

This recipe is as simple as it gets. You can use a manual juicer, or a juicer such as the Omega or Breville Juicer. Enjoy immediately!

Medicinal Apple Tonic

Apples are one of the most medicinal fruits out there! They contain beneficial amino-acids like cysteine, glycine, arginine, histidine, isoleucine, lysine, serene, valine, and methionine. They are also rich in minerals like potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, iron and calcium, and contain a hefty serving of fibre to help regulate the digestive tract and reduce the chance of developing colon cancer later in life.

Here are 14 Major Benefits of Apples!
1. Anti-inflammatory of the digestive tract
2. Anti-acid, and useful for nausea or vomiting
3. Anti-diarrheal and soft laxative
4. Anti-flatulence, and a great regulator of the intestine
5. Diuretic and depurative, and helps with the treatment of kidney related diseases
6. Anti-catarrh and helps with cases of bronchitis or chronic cough
7. Anti-cholesterol
8. Anti-cancer
9. Reduces high blood pressure in cases of hypertension
10. Sedative, and great for consuming before sleep
11. Helps reduce fever
12. Improves hearing loss due to minerals like potassium, magnesium, zinc and manganese
13. Helps to reduce the side effects of hay fever
14. Help individuals quit smoking by making the smoke itself, not pleasant to be around (i.e., smell)

Ingredients:
- 4-5 granny smith apples (or whatever apple you have on hand)
- 1 lime, peeled if not organic
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

Juice the above ingredients in a juicer, such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately to prevent oxidation.

Mucus Clearing Radish Smoothie

Excess mucoid build-up in the body is a sign that the body is in a state of agitation. This mucus can manifest from toxins, pollutants, food additives, food allergens (soy, wheat, eggs, dairy), and it mainly targets the respiratory system, gastrointestinal system and lymphatic system.

The two main culprits of mucus formation are wheat and dairy. Casein in dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheese, etc.) and gluten in wheat require strong stomach acids for digestion. Upon digestion completion, there are still many left-over food particles that are too big to be used by the body. These partly-digested food particles become coated with thick mucus to prevent further putrefaction in the intestines.

A majority of individuals on this planet suffer from a build-up of mucus in the body (mainly due to the standard diets so many individuals consume). This results in a body that is in a constant state of fighting off some sort of foreign "viral invasion" (the body naturally protects itself by fighting these food particles, because to the body, these products are foreign and not meant to be consumed).

7 Reasons To Drink This Smoothie:

1. You have a chronic cough, and it won't go away
2. Mucus build-up from a cold or flu
3. You wake up with puffy and/or crusty eyes in the morning
4. Bad breath throughout the day (even after brushing)
5. Your nose is constantly running and stuffy
6. Your sense are dulled (you need to add lots of salt to your food to actually taste it)
7. Your thinking is foggy and un-clear

Drink once a day, every day, to help clear out excess mucoid plaque from the intestine and arterial walls!

Ingredients:
- 1 cup radishes
- 2 tsp. chia seeds
- 2 cups leafy greens (I used a mix of romaine and spinach)
- 2 cups ripe, juicy mango
- 1-2 cups young thai coconut water (depending on how thick you want the smoothie)

Blend the above ingredients in a blender such as the Vitamix and enjoy immediately!

Skin Detox Green Smoothie

Most people don't view skin as an organ, but it is in fact the largest organ of body! If you suffer from poor skin, don't turn to over-the-counter products. Skin quality starts from within. If the state of your internal organs are compromised, your skin will be the first to suffer.

The major detox organs of the body, namely, the liver, kidneys and intestinal tract, filter out toxins. If these organs are malfunctioning, then toxins need a way to exit the body, and thus, they come out of the skin in the form of blemishes, acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis - you name it!

This smoothie will help support proper liver and kidney function, and will aid in proper elimination of built-up toxic matter in the intestinal tract. Remember, drinking plenty of water throughout the day, and engaging in regular exercise and stress-reduction techniques is also crucial to proper skin health. Consuming a diet rich in fruit and vegetables is also incredibly necessary for a beautiful complexion.

Ingredients:
- 5 ripe kiwi
- 1 lime, juiced
- 2 sprigs of mint
- 2 green apples
- 2 ripe spotty bananas

- Blend the above ingredients in a blender such as the Vitamix, and enjoy immediately!

Nectarine Passion Smoothie For Stress, Skin & Eye Health

If you want to help improve the look and feel of your skin, drink this smoothie (everyday!). Nectarines are one of the best foods to help nourish and improve the look of your skin! And what a better time to eat them than NOW - nectarines are in full-season and loaded with vitamins, minerals and crucial phytonutrients. Be sure to buy nectarines organic, though, as they are on the "dirty" list of pesticide-laden fruits.

Nectarines are loaded with anti-oxidant vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin E and flavonoids lutein, zea-xanthin, and Beta-cryptoxanthin. Vitamin A is converted to beta-carotene in the body, which is required for proper night vision and prevention of age-related macular degeneration. It is also required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and protecting against lung and oral cavity cancers.

Vitamin E is another important vitamin that you must consume via foods since your body cannot produce it itself. Vitamin E from fruits and vegetables helps protect your skin from UVB radiation and helps prevent premature aging of the skin and damage to your DNA.

Not only that, but nectarines also contain B-complex vitamins which nourish our nerves and keep our brain healthy and mind clear and stress-free.

Ingredients:
- 5 ripe nectarines (preferably organic, as nectarines are on the "dirty" list)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup organic strawberries
- 1 cup young thai coconut water (or regular water)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla bean powder

Blend the above ingredients in a blender such as the Vitamix & enjoy immediately to prevent oxidation!

Raw Vegan Ice Cream: Mint Chocolate Chip

Who doesn't love mint chocolate chip ice cream? As one of my favourite flavours growing up as a kid, it slightly disappointed me when I came to the realization that I could no longer indulge in this masterful flavour combination. That realization quickly halted after about 30 seconds, because I realized that recreating this ice cream in raw vegan form, really wasn't that hard.

In fact, this recipe is probably THE BEST mint chocolate chip ice cream I have ever had the chance of experiencing. The hint of banana and revitalizing punch of the fresh mint leaves brings this ice cream to a whole other level! Plus it has the added benefit of real, raw, living enzymes available in every single ingredient! Energize, and get rid of crabby moods with tryptophans and B vitamins in the banana, mineralize with the medjool dates, and deodorize your body with mint!

You can create this recipe with a blender, and if you want to take to the next level (soft-serve like ice cream texture), run the mixture through a juicer!

Ingredients:
- 3 ripe spotty bananas
- 1/4 cup mint juice (I took 2 cups of mint and juiced it - otherwise, if you don't have a juicer, you can just blend in the mint leaves with the bananas in the blender)
- 5 pitted medjool dates
- 1 tsp. vanilla bean powder
- 2 tbsp. carob powder
- 1/4 cup cacao nibs

Instructions (if you do NOT have a masticating juicer such as the Omega or Champion Juicer):
1. Freeze your spotty bananas overnight (or use frozen bananas if you already have)
2. Blend frozen bananas, mint juice or mint leaves, medjool dates, vanilla bean powder and carob powder on high speed, or until fully blended
3. Stir in cacao nibs & enjoy!

Instructions (if you DO have a masticating juicer like the Omega or Champion Juicer):
1. In a high speed blender, blend the bananas, mint leaves or mint juice, dates, vanilla powder, and carob powder.
2. Take this mixture and freeze in a baggie overnight
3. Take frozen banana-mint mix and run through the juicer to create a soft-serve type ice cream
4. Stir in cacao nibs & enjoy!

Hormone Balancing Booster Juice

Who knew that ingestion of sweet potatoes and turmeric could actually help balance our hormones! When I came across this statement I was thrilled, mainly because my hormones have been a bit off ever since I went off birth control (which I was on for 7 years). It was also a surprise to me that sweet potatoes can be consumed raw, and provide an even broader array of nutrients to our body than when cooked (as with most vegetables).

Sweet potatoes are a great source of Vitamins A, B6, C and E and are loaded with minerals like manganese, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium. Recent studies have shown that sweet potatoes contain a protein hormone called adiponectin, which is a critical component when it comes to modifying insulin metabolism.

Turmeric is also a great way to help increase the body's progesterone levels, which is particularly useful for women going through menopause or those who have gone off birth control pills.

Ingredients:
- 1 medium sweet potato (about 2 cups worth)
- 2 inches turmeric root
- 3 large carrots
- 1 medium cucumber
- 4 celery stalks
- 1 lemon (peel if not organic)

Juice the above ingredients in a juicer such as the Omega, and enjoy immediately to prevent oxidation!

Lycopene Healer Juice For Heart Health & Cancer Prevention

Lycopene - we have all heard of it, but what does it actually do?

Lycopene is found in reddish-orange pigmented fruit and vegetables like tomatoes, watermelon, grapefruit and beets. It is known for its major benefits in helping heal those suffering from prostate cancer and breast cancer. It has also been demonstrated in providing protection to the blood vessels around the heart and neck.

Tomatoes (a great source of lycopene) have particularly been researched for their ability to protect against the development of cardiovascular disease. Lycopene is a fat soluble vitamin, so consuming tomatoes with some fat source will help it become more readily absorbable in the body. That is why I decided to include a fat source in this juice, added after the juicing itself.

Be sure to buy produce that is organic to reduce toxic load. It is hard for the body to heal when you are feeding it toxins to begin with. Be kind to your body, and go local and organic!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups tomatoes
- 1/2 bunch parsley (about 1 cup)
- 4 large carrots
- 1 beet
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp. hemp oil (add to juice last)

Juice the above ingredients (except hemp oil) in a juicer, such as the Omega, add in the hemp oil last, and enjoy immediately!

Homemade Summer Fruit Juice

Making your own fruit juice is easy and takes no time at all (max 5 minutes). It is a much better option than pasteurized juices you can buy in stores, because all of the enzymes, vitamins and minerals are still in tact, and are therefore, better absorbed by the body.

This juice combination is one of my all time favourites, and now that summer has entered the seasonal realm, I can now include all of the amazing local fruit that has peak nutrition. This juice will not only energize you, it will provide you with plenty of iron, vitamin C, and lymph-pumping macronutrients.

It is also important to ensure that your fruit is organic, mainly because a majority of it is sprayed with toxic pesticides and herbicides. If you do not have the option of choosing organic, make a fruit juice with fruits that are lower on the pesticide list, and go from there!

Ingredients:
- 2 apples
- 2 cups grapes (a mix of whatever type you like best - I used black and red and green)
- 2 peaches
- 1 cup kumquats (OR you can alternatively use 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice)

*Note: the banana is for decoration - do not attempt juicing bananas or you will be disappointed ;P

Juice the above ingredients in a juicer such as the Omega Juicer, and enjoy!

Healthy Smoothie Based Fruit Pops

I thought of an incredible idea, and although I know that somebody out there has already thought of it, I felt quite excited (and brilliant) to test it and try it out! Smoothie-based fruit pops! These things are amazingly tasty, and contain no added chemicals, synthetic flavours or any of that other crazy stuff you really don't want to be putting in your body (have you read the ingredient list on some popsicles out there? It's scary!)

All you need for these smoothie pops is popsicle moulds, a blender, a freezer, some fruit and leafy greens (if you want to make the green ones). They are incredibly simple to make, and help you to cool down on those deathly humid-hot days. You can experiment too! Make any kind of your favourite smoothie blend, and freeze them in popsicle moulds - the sky is the limit!

Ingredients:

Green Blend:
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup kale
- 2 ripe, spotty bananas
- 4 pitted medjool dates
- 1/2 cup water

Raspberry Cooler:
- 1 cup organic raspberries
- 1 cup peeled & chopped mango
- 1 cup young coconut water
- 1/4 cup basil

Strawberry Healer:
- 1 cup organic strawberries
- 1 cup ripe pineapple
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

For each smoothie base, blend in a blender such as the Vitamix, and pour into popsicle moulds. Place a popsicle stick in the middle of each mould and let freeze over night, or for at least 8 hours. Enjoy!

Raw, Vegan, Probiotic Almond Milk!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups raw almonds (soak them overnight in water to help blend them easier and to release enzyme inhibitors which makes them more digestible. Drain and rinse the almonds afterward.)
- 4 cups water (you can also try coconut water or dandelion tea)
- 3-5 dates, pitted
- 2 vegan probiotic capsules (try one with at least 10 billion cultures per capsule - I personally like to use Garden of Life RAW Primal Defense capsules)

Preparation Instructions
1. Blend all the ingredients together except for the Probiotic capsules in a high speed blender.
2. Pour the mixture through the nut milk bag over a bowl and squeeze!
3. Add the Probiotic capsules to the milk. Just open them up to release the powder inside. Gently stir with a spoon.

At this point you can put your almond milk in the fridge and it’s ready!
Or, you can add these extra steps:

4. Cover the bowl with a towel to keep it away from the light and put it in the oven (don’t turn on the oven). The oven will keep the milk at a stabilized temperature which will help with the culturing process. Leave it in there for 12 hours or overnight.
When the 12 hours is up, take out the bowl and it’s ready! It should smell like yogurt!

This recipe makes for an excellent vegan base to any smoothie, and will keep in the fridge for a total of five days!

Summer Berry Vitality Smoothie

One of my favourite things to eat in summer are fresh berries! They are packed with nutrition, especially if bought locally and infuse your body with all the energy it needs to get through the day. Not to mention, they are also high in fibre, which helps to push through toxic waste matter in the colon and free room for better nutrient absorption!

If you want to enjoy pure refreshment at a whole other galactic level of awesomeness, do not miss your chance to try this smoothie this summer! If you want, you can also exchange some berries in exchange for berries that are more suited for your palate! For instance, I may switch the blueberries with saskatoon berries or blackberries!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups organic blueberries
- 1 cup organic raspberries
- 1 organic apple, cored
- 2 oranges, juiced
- 1 cup water or young thai coconut water

Blend the above ingredients in a blender such as the Vitamix & enjoy immediately to prevent oxidation!
