Thyroid Tonic

Your thyroid is a set of multiple glands that work to keep your body running smoothly. They deliver messages (hormones) between themselves and other body parts so that all of those tiny cells are regulated and functioning at the proper levels. The hormones produced by the thyroid (T3 and T4)  are essential for life and have many effects on metabolism, growth and development.
Thyroid health is important, because if your thyroid isn't functioning properly it can lead to developmental defects or weight gain. Food is our medicine, so consuming the proper foods will help support your thyroid to ensure it remains in tip top shape. Carrots contain ample amounts of beta-carotene which is the precursor for vitamin A in the body. If you are low on vitamin A, your ability to produce thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is limited. This vitamin is required by the body to convert T4 to T3. 
B-complex vitamins are required for good thyroid function. Cucumbers contain B vitamins, so they are a good choice when trying to nourish the thyroid glands. Without B vitamins the thyroid and adrenal glands fail to secrete their hormones, and won't be able to utilize its iodine raw material efficiently to make hormones. Ingredients:
- 1 cucumber
- 5 stalks celery
- 5 carrots
- 1 cup young thai coconut water
- 1 lemon
Juice the above ingredients, and add coconut water last! Enjoy!

  1. Thank-you so much for this recipe, I have been looking for a good thyroid tonic, The doctors say my thyroid levels are almost non existent and I have put on a ton of weight, Any more great dietary suggestions, I have a wedding in two months.

    2. there is an herbal supplement called metabolic thyroid! it is excellent for taking for your thyroid. I had major problems with mine, I was losing hair and various other problems. this is a great natural herb without side effects and will repair your thyroid,take for at least a year. make sure you check yourself before you stop taking it.it will rake a few months before it starts to correct the problem, then after that you will start toto see major improvement. and I second the iodine supplement. I took it in addition to the metabolic thyroid. you can find it ina liquid form with a dropper.

  2. Iodine is food for your thyroid. Any good health food store will carry it. The usual dosage is 2 drops daily or 1200 mcg's. The first drop goes to your breasts to prevent fibroids and cysts from growing. The second drop goes to your thyroid. It also helps balance your hormones, so you can loose weight.

      Well it is a thyroid tonic, good but when you are already operate from the thyroid and you do not want to take the "fcking shit drugs", how I can suplement the Drugs or tables in a natural way ???

  5. the dr. says I have multinodular goiter. have put back on 10 lbs. all she ever says is "we can take it out". tired of all the blood tests and talk of surgery...

  6. My doctor told me I have an under active thyroid . I've had two ultra sounds but she says I dont have a goiter and she has not put me on meds for it. But my hair is thinning and I am so forgetful all the time and in a bad mood always! Please help !
